Kempton

5.30 – #5 I ConfessI Confess
Quite a busy runner this winter and doing well in his latest starts including two wins in recent sellers at Lingfield. Typically consistent and though hasn’t raced much in Kempton gave a wonderful 3rd in a class 5 claimer there, so chances are he’ll handle the field. Drawn low though of no significance in this small field, still, can’t  hurt. Weighted well, dropped by a few since his last where winning, also able on distance which is a big plus in this small yet competitive race. Booked with Matthew Cosham which had him in recent Kempton claimer, jockey shows nice stats for course but lacks the record on distance hopefully the horse itself will compensate. Biggest threat is Ours, a strong contender which showed skills in higher grades and under tougher weights and is also booked with Barry McHugh which has brilliant striking rate for both course and distance. However, returning from a two month break and having his last Kempton run held more than 3 years ago suggests he might not succeed in this run as expected.

7.30 -#6 Double Carpet Double Carpet
Course and distance winner, and consistent sort who should do well in this race as already won twice here running 7f. Weighted well as proved competent at higher, beautifully drawn and seems to appreciate such positions running at Kempton, should take advantage of this once more. Eddie Ahern on board, replaced Kirsty Milczarek who did well with this 8 year old, proving that in this case it’s the jockey that needs a good horse and not the other way around. Current jockey did well landing a win here last month and despite presenting mild stats for course and distance should lead this veteran well. Opposed by West Leake and Co Dependent, both pose a serious danger however the latter a bit in consistent and doubts 7f will suit which leaves West Leake as the one to oppose Double Carpet.

8.30 – #5 Ocean Legend Ocean Legend
Course and distance winner running well in his last 4 starts including a dead heat win here last month. Back in favored field only 3lb rise, still weighted well and also beautifully drawn though seems to prefer wider positions but will benefit from current. Richard Hugues mount the 6 year old, first time ride for top jockey aboard the gelding but team up should do well here.

Lingfield

2.10 – #2 Where's Susie Where’s Susie
Proved on both course and distance, no disgrace in her latest effort and will appreciate the step in trip one furlong up. Well drawn for this match and balanced on the weights, showed improvement when dropped 5lb for latest run and with an over two weeks break should be able to handle the extra 2lb for current field. George Baker on board, had her in her two latest starts and should probably figured out by now how to pull her strings right same as in last year’s well conducted runs,  also showing superb stats over course and distance which altogether give this team up a strong edge. Stadium Of Light and Soundbyte are the danger for this competent 6 year old mare. Stadium Of Light bares top form but has yet to prove on course and distance is drawn wide and up in weights and will probably be held by those from reaching first. Soundbyte drawn wide though proved to bounce from such stall positions and shows inconsistency which will probably deny him from winning this run. All stable mates for Where’s Susie ran to form in the last two weeks, a hint over the trainer’s efforts to let  his horses get the upper hand.

1 point win @ 7/2 with William Hill

4.10 – #5 Steel City Boy Steel City Boy
Course and distance winner with a notable improvement in latest starts ever since teamed up with Jimmy Quinn and set out to race more class 6 than class 5 races. Weights remain intact and well within the reasonable scale of his abilities, drawn wide and a bit harsh in this 10 runner race but as this 8 year old made it through tougher draw positions in previous starts, no reason he shouldn’t handle it once more. Facing Black Baccara, a top contender for this field which already proven superior to Steel City Boy but is now significantly up in weights and with Danielle McCreery which is not the best choice a jockey for this competent filly.

1 point win @ 9/2 with William Hill

5.10 – #1 Fashionable Gal Fashionable Gal
Course and distance winner, running well in her debut after a long winter break and landing a terrific win in a competitive field. Now back to same field under Eddie Ahern who was mount the 4 year old filly in her last win, showing good stats for both course and distance and should lead her well once more. Up in weights which is a bit of concern for her but believed to handle, drawn wide but made clear it won’t stop her from galloping onward like she did in her last where also drawn wide. Not much opposition except for Lean Machine which is now N/R and Free Tussy which shows improvement lately but now switched to a lesser jockey and doubts he can handle this run to overpower the Gal.  All of the filly’s stable mates ran to form in the last two weeks further assuring her chances here.

Southwell

2.10 – #2 Bookiesindex Boy Bookiesindex Boy
Course and distance winner and prominent Southwell player,  suffered a setback tested at grade 4 but was rapidly brought back one grade higher where found his strength again. Weights relatively high, a bit of concern for him in this competitive field but already proven to handle such weights in previous starts including recent Southwell win. Drawn wide, a big concern even more than the weights but made his way through such positions in the past and should be able to make this time as well. Facing old enemies Where’s Reiley and Sleepy Blue Ocean, both  in top form of late however proved superior to them in recent starts when facing tougher conditions. On board is Stephen Craine, jockey for recent win which shows complimenting stats for both course and distance.

1 point win @ 5/1 with William Hill
Finished 10th -1 point

3.40 – #6 Mexican Jay Mexican Jay
Course and distance winner, a bit inconsistent in her recent form but now back to suitable conditions and should play well once more. Seems to do well in current distance, up in weights a bit since last run but of no concern, drawn wide but proven able in coming off tougher stall positions. Visor on again, seemed to help her bounce back her recent setback caused by 3 month break, chances for her to land this field. Tom Eaves on board, doing well for trainer Bryan Smart, had Mexican Jay under him with mild results but should be able to lead her well this time under favored conditions.

1 point win @ 5/1 with William Hill
Finihsed 7th – 1 point

4.40  – #6 The Lock Master The Lock Master
Course and distance winner, does well on Southwell runs better than on any other course so good chances for him to land this trial as did before. Struggled going one grade higher, three consecutive races of current grade behind him and should have adapted by now. Weighted well, drawn wide but managed to handle coming off such position in previous starts. Back to favored course and favored trip distance a big advantage, on board is Neil Chalmers which did well mount the 4 year old now back in Southwell and favored trip distance should prove this team up worthy.

Lingfield

2.10 – #1 Lastkingofscotland Lastkingofscotland
Course and distance winner, back to favored field at Lingfield after an unfortunate adventure at Kempton where performing below his best struggling under top weights. Well drawn and weighted nicely this time allowing him to display his abilities, should prove on distance once more as already did one class higher than current. Hayley Turner on board, lead him well in previous runs including two recent wins here at Lingfield and showing nice stats at course and distance, all in all a strong team which should justify previous results. Up against stable mate Chjimes, a big advantage here as all of the latter’s recent starts conducted by Hayley Turner herself who should be able to use her knowledge riding 7 year old to her advantage. Frequency be the danger, a top form contender and a course and distance winner however ridden by Cathy Gannon which tend to fail when given the leading runner or fav for the field.

1 point win @ 5/1 with William Hill
Won @ 5/1 +5 points

3.15 – #4 Mini Bon Bon Mini Bon Bon
Made a stop to her ongoing losing run in her last two starts winning at Southwell and placing a close 2nd to the brilliant Rylee Mooch at Lingfield in the last despite going up in weights. Latest improvement  when switched from cheekpieces back to visor and under Liam Jones. Proven on distance and shown abilities at course in her last as oppose to Go Maggie Go and Juarla which both go out on a Lingfield run for the first time, Juarla also significantly up in weights. A big chance the ongoing battle between this two favs will give Mini Bon Bon the room she would require to land this one.

1 point win @ 5/1 with William Hill
Finished 4th -1 point

4.25 – #5 Faithful Ruler Faithful Ruler
Course and distance winner, excellent form of late, last two at Lingfield resulted in a win. Drawn wide but done well from such position in his recent runs and also small field here so no real problem. Weighted well and dropped one class down so good chances for him. Luke Morris on board, had him in his last 4 starts including in his recent Lingfield win, a strong team up with great chances of landing this trial.

Huntingdon

3.10 – #5 Be My Light Be My Light
Course winner in January and excuses for latest 8th in Taunton. Well in form in her last starts showing notable consistency throughout her career. Well held by the weights last time, now slightly dropped and should find it a bit easier. Kielan Woods aboard, same mount for both latest course win and last 8th, good strike rate though not many runs under his wing as he is a teenage jockey just making his first steps. Still enthusiasm expected of him in this run, believed to lead the 5 year old mare right in.

1 point win @ 7/1 with William Hill
2nd @ 4/1 – 1 point

3.40 – #8 Western WhiskyWestern Whisky
Proven on distance with last two starts well conducted. Notable improvement since fitted with cheekpieces instead of blinkers, and with Jodie Mogford on board should display his abilities. Concerns he hasn’t fully recovered since last Plumpton run however this can also be considered as an advantage as he is still in the spirit of racing. Lowered weights to push him forward, threatened by Marc Of Brilliance.

1 point win @ 3/1 with William Hill
PU -1 point

4.10 – #2 Ubi Ace Ubi Ace
First jumps debut, last start tough as struggling with distance but now back to distance where 2nd in Novice last January and should go well. Just recently switched to jumps and already showing a promising spark under Robert Walford who’s on for this run as well. Tough weights on him for this trial, hopefully not too tough as carrying top weights for this field, should probably compensate with trip abilities.
