Kempton

6.25 – #1 Johnny HancocksJohnny Hancocks
On a losing run but still a course and distance winner not long ago and shows tendency to bounce off rough periods of poor running. Running better than his form suggests and also taking a drop in grade which should boost his chance of conquering this trial, weights keep decline however allocated go much higher than previous starts as still high rated and now dropped in grade and seems as if handicapper still consider him. Change of jockey, Royston Ffrench now on board instead of James Sullivan, new jockey shows slightly better stats and may well be the factor to elevate the 3 year old to where he actually belongs. Drawn well to aid his run.

2nd @ 7/1 – 1 point

6.55 – #1 Futurism Futurism
Not without chance here and stands in one line with both rivals Musawama, Swindy as the trio are all recent class 5 maiden winners and rated much the same. Futurism however bit more exposed than these two and has a recent course and distance achievement which will give him an edge. Top jockey Richard Hughes on board, a definite advantage for the 3 year old.

2 points win @ 4/1 with Bet365
3rd @ 6/1 -2 points

8.25 – #7 Punching Punching
Struggles over polytrack however of interest as trainer decides to have another shot at it. Proven on distance and not out of it showing some nice results for winning and placing.

8.55 – #1 Willow Dancer Willow Dancer
Top contender despite coming off a 157 day break. Consistent in form though without a win since 2008 but strong efforts in his last class 4 suggests current drop in class will suit very much. Proven on distance and done well on courses, booked with Adam Kirby who was on in 70% of the 7 year old starts since mid 2007 bearing a couple of wins and a respected amount of well played placings especially the last sequence which ended in November.

Lingfield

2.30- #4 Lend A Grand Lend A Grand
Course and distance winner in November and fair effort in his last February start when coming off a 3 months break. Well drawn in small field, carrying 5 lbs less than in his last. Booked with Ian Mongan who has good stats and showed abilities mount the horse in previous starts. 75% of stable mates running to form, a good sign.

1 point win @ 9/1 with Bet365
3rd @ 11/1 – 1 point

3.30 – #6 Misaro Misaro
Course and distance winner and a player in previous starts, shows a spark here and there and should have his chance in this run. Many starts resulted in low positions but such which hardly reflect efforts and abilities put in the run. Booked with David Probert, a definite AW jockey which gained a lot of experience riding the 10 year old and has laid some nice results with him in the past. Running a seller could be of good change after having difficulties in handicaps.

1 point win @ 13/2 with Bet365
2nd @ 7/1 – 1 point

Kempton

5.40 – #2 Onceaponatime Onceaponatime
First time blinkers may well change the course of things for him, gave good effort under current jockey in the past and this his chance to bounce back. Course and distance winner and running better than his form suggests.  Luke Morris on board, well experienced with this 6 year old, team up should benefit the drop in class, first time blinkers, low draw and high top speed figures.

Kempton

4.20 – #4 Perfect Chi Perfect Chi
Won her last twice over course and distance and obviously a Kempton player thriving under James Doyle. Her last failing Lingfield run where 8th can be excused for rider falling off in the preceding starts which may have caused the filly a bit unease in the following start where, as mentioned, finished last. Bounced back from that setback in her last mid March Kempton run beating the tough Avonrose by a neck and leaving Sunset Kitty and Cape Melody behind, both up against the 4 year old filly once more for this run. Draw is low but not too significant as running small field and proven over low and high alike. Up 3 lbs for latest win, fair rise and allocated weights not to hold her back. James Doyle on board once more, seems to have his way with this filly, won twice with her over course and distance and shows fair stats for course, distance and race type.

2 points win @ 9/2 with Bet365
3rd @ 7/1 – 2 points

4.50 – #1 Gandalf Gandalf
Coming off a 44 day break but well known as one that needs time from race to race so not a negative factor as it might seem. Course and distance winner and progressive since his fifth at Lingfield in December. Modest flats form, obviously better than jumps, and latest win tells the story for his chances here as beat two which face him once more, Indian Ghyll and Eagle Nebula, the former quite a threat presenting sort of consistency in his latest. Drawn in the middle which suits his style of running, up 5lbs for latest win but only 3lb in allocated weights and proven able on such in his last Lingfield run. Under the brialliant Hayley Turner which lead him for last course and distance win and should lead well once more. Kadouchski the danger, an in form contender doing well in his last here at Kempton but better over jumps and now running one class higher.

0.5 points win @ 7/1 with Bet365
Finished 4th -0.5 point
*An interesting e/w with Rollin ‘n Tumblin, poor run coming off a 3 years break but top form in the past and might surprise with a good run having warmed up in his last. 0.5 points e/w @ 25/1 with Bet365
Finished last -0.5 points

5.20 – #2 Greenhead High Greenhead High
Consistent and progressive, “an almost” type which had his time due to win following a series of non disgracing efforts. Dropped in class whereas both his rivals Avalon Bay and Winnipeg now up in class, should give him a notable edge in this field. Course and distance winner in his maiden here. Drawn well for this mid field, weights one lbs below top carried by Avalon Bay and not out of his abilities. J-P Guillambert rides this one, had him in more than 70% of the 3 year old starts, familiar with the horse and has shown progression which should not be overlooked.

Kelso

3.00 – #1 Carrietau Carrietau
A competent chaser and a course and distance winner here in May under current class, went up one class higher since last win and been struggling a bit though a slow but notable improvement from run to run suggesting he’s one to progress and adjust to terms. Current course seem to have a positive affect on him as running well in most of his previous starts here including a modest yet not disgracing 4th in his last. Few factors catching the eye making him an interesting contender for this chase. Dropped in class after a serious of tough class 3 challenges, blinkers back on which suits him best having most of his wins and placing in the last couple of years done when fitted with the set of tongue tie and blinkers. Change of jockey, first time for this team with Jason Maguire which bears excellent stats for chase rides and in current course. All these in addition with top speed figures, highest rating and going to his liking make him the one to watch out for. Carries top weights, naturally, however managed such in the past with some satisfying results and no reason why shouldn’t go forward under current. Sheriff Hall the danger, consistent form of last and weighted to handle but is less experienced and Kelso not his favorite grounds.

5.00  – #2 Moon Indigo Moon Indigo
Coming a nice 4th in a class 1 novice hurdle here at Kelso, now running his handicap hurdle debut at class 3 and much chances for him to prove his current switch from novices to handicaps would be successful. Running well in flats, no disgrace over hurdles either and looks as if he can manage this new type of task laid before him. Yet to prove on course but well displayed his spirit in his last here, distance is also an unconquered achievement but his 2nd at the 24 furlong run in October makes no doubt he can handle. Bit up in allocated weights but nothing acute to prevent him from galloping forward and managing the hurdles. Going to his liking, ridden by Paul Gallagher, a young but promising 5lb claimer with a strike rate of 24% for current yard. Threatened by Sendali, a recent course and distance winner which shows much improvement for new yard but doubts his current mount can lead him to win.

5.30 – #1 Identity Parade Identity Parade
Proven on distance and gave a great ride to win in Carlisle before taking part in a void race where should have achieved another win. Running her handicap debut under the brilliant Jason Maguire which lead her well in his last two mount the 7 year old mare. High in weights as a result of a high mark but should handle, proven on distance and will appreciate the going.
